Now, it's Ryan Seacrest's Turn to Talk 'American Idol' Judges

by Jean Bentley, posted Aug 4th 2010 10:55AM
Ryan SeacrestAnother day, another non-answer about 'American Idol' from one of the show's stars.

Ryan Seacrest
told the Associated Press at 'Idol' auditions in New Jersey yesterday that it could be weeks until the entire judging lineup is confirmed, and that he doesn't know many people will be sitting at the table. Though there are two vacant seats to fill -- both Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres are officially out -- the show's producers could choose to return to the old three-judge lineup for the tenth season.

Seacrest's comments are similar to those of 'Idol' judge Randy Jackson and FOX entertainment chairman Peter Rice, who both said nothing was set in stone other than Seacrest's contract.

Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler have been the most talked-about names in terms of replacement judges, but Rice said at FOX's TCA executive session Monday that he would prefer to announce all the season 10 news at once.

Tell us: Are you tired of this non-news? Would you like 'Idol' to just tell us the new judges, already?

I would love to see Steven Tyler as a judge! I think Bret Michaels would be great as well.

THe judges are not important - the talent is. BUT - there should be a way to limit the amount of votes any person can cast - and voting should be for the one to go and not the one to stay.

I agree with most of you. This show is over. And I wish the reality show market would just go away! How many more seasons of The Bachelor Survivor, or The Amazinfg race can we stand? No Simon, no Paula, no show. End of story!!!

The show was ruined when they let Paula leave and then added DiGuardi but the biggest mistake was Ellen. That was not a fit and it was never going to be a fit. Now the vanguard of the show is leaving and they want to use Steven Tyler (UGH) and Jennifer Lopez, two very weak choices. They need to hire another strong choice from England and bring back Paula! Keep the very popular Randy Jackson. As much as they can, restore what was successful.

I probably won't watch it at all without Simon. But I am available to be a judge if they want me! Then I'll watch it again.
