Richard Schiff Joins 'Criminal Minds' Spin-Off
Three months after CBS announced the addition of a 'Criminal Minds' spin-off to the network schedule, producers are still working to fill out the cast. This time around, they're pulling someone directly from the White House.Richard Schiff, who played lovable but surly Communications Director Toby Ziegler on 'The West Wing,' has been added to the cast of 'Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior,' according to Entertainment Weekly. Most recently seen on the quickly canceled 'Past Life,' Schiff will play Jack Fickler, who is the director of the FBI. Schiff's character will appear in the very first episode of the series.
Producers of the spin-off have been in casting mode for months. Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker signed on to the show as F.B.I. profiler Sam Cooper shortly after CBS gave the show a green light. At the end of June, TV and movie veteran Janeane Garofalo joined the cast as a member of Cooper's team. Additional cast includes Matt Ryan, Michael Kelly, Beau Garrett and 'Criminal Minds' veteran Kirsten Vangsness.
'Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior' is scheduled to premiere at mid-season.
