'So You Think You Can Dance' Top 3 Finalists Revealed (VIDEO)

by AOL TV Staff, posted Aug 6th 2010 1:15AM
After a summer filled with ups (all stars!) downs (injuries) and some all-around spectacular routines, 'So You Think You Can Dance' is winding down its seventh season. The show revealed its top 3 finalists on this week's results show (Thu., 9PM on FOX), .

Host Cat Deeley revealed that more than 10 million votes were cast to determine the final three contestants competing for the title of America's Favorite Dancer.[SPOILER ALERT]

The first person announced safe was jazz dancer (and last woman standing) Lauren. Then Kent -- that corn-fed contemporary/jazz wonder from Wapakoneta, Ohio -- was also ushered through, and the soundstage was nearly brought down by ecstatic tween screams.

And perhaps riding the wave of momentum that only increased with his impressive Viennese waltz and hip-hop routines from the night before, Robert nabbed the coveted finale's third and final slot.

Which left fellow contemporary dancer AdéChiké the odd man out. And while he was emotional during Wednesday night's performance show, the dancer from Brooklyn was as cool as a cucumber upon discovering his fate. "It been an honor to be on the show," he said. "This is not the end of the road. This is only the beginning of the journey."

When Cat asked what he'll miss most about his 'SYTYCD' experience, Chiké flashed his pearly whites and pointed to his fellow contestants down on the floor. "The homies, man," he grinned.

"Who knew that homies came from Wapakoneta?" Cat wondered.

Who indeed?

I agree that Kent's faces are starting to drive me crazy. I understand he is young, but his faces make him come across even younger than 18. This show is about being a PROFESSIONAL dancer. Emotional maturity and skill are both included in that. He seems like a sweet kid, so this is not against him personally. I am just saying that we all know he is young; there is no need to remind us constantly with his faces.

I wish all three if them all the best. I am sure they will have great careers.

I'm sorta sick of Kent and his clown personality, clown faces when he dances and his in the closet pretending that he is straight. At least the show got 10 out of 12 excellent dancers for once. The tap dancer and salsa girl - first 2 to go were not good enough - the rest have been excellent! Thanks for that and for losing Mary Murphy - the most annoying woman on earth next to Sarah Palin.

I think the judges were responsible for AdeChike's demise. He is a fabulous dancer. Mia was constantly criticizing him to the point that it made me sick.

I know he will have a fabulous career.

I totally agree! Mia was always too hard on him. Her criticism WAS NOT constructive at all. In my opinion it was just mean.

I've heard more complaints about Mia being responsible for AdeChike's loss. It amazes me that the people who complain haven't realized that the judges had no say in the final outcome. If viewers are so stupid that they can't determine on their own who they think the best dancer is, they shouldn't vote. If the dancers can't take the judge's criticism, they better pick another career.

The dropping of Adechike was expected; this superbly strong and talented young man probably suffered from his quiet and unassuming nature whn the phones rang. The three remaining dancers are equals but each has something special over the other. I always considered Robert an outsider who would shine; he is a very able dancer with the grace of the ballet mixed with the ability to do anything superbly. Kent is also very talented but a complete clown in the nicest way, a cutie who will pull the kiddie votes. Lauren has proved herself a fabulous all rounder. It will be very hard to predict and very hard to choose a winner as they all deserve the crown.
