Denis Leary Gives His Take on Solo-Sailing Teen Abby Sunderland (VIDEO)

Kids have it too easy these days, if you ask Denis Leary. His daughter and son have trophies and ribbons from every sporting league they've every been in -- just for being involved.

The actor told Jimmy Fallon on 'Late Night' ( weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), "Now it's like, you suck, you get a trophy ... I encourage my kids to have dreams and to achieve them, but I do also believe, like with the trophies, there are certain things parents are in charge of. Like this is the land of dreams, but if your dreams are stupid, we should cut them off at the knees."

He cited Abby Sunderland -- the 16-year-old who attempted to sail around the world on her own -- as an example. Check out what he said his dad would have done if Leary needed to be rescued from the Indian Ocean.
