Is Cat Racist? 'The Real Housewives of D.C.' (VIDEO)

by Allyssa Lee, posted Aug 6th 2010 2:30AM
It's only been the inaugural episode of 'The Real Housewives of D.C.' (Thu., 9PM on BRAVO) and things have already gotten a little snippy.

Like these small seeds of discontent that British Cat has started to sow in Stacie. In this episode, Stacie proudly introduced the gang to Cheo, Janet Jackson's personal chef, who has also catered to Tyra Banks.

"Poor you," Cat responded upon hearing the name of the model-turned-actress-turned talk show host and media mogul.

"Did you say 'poor you?'" pounced Stacie. "You don't like Tyra?"
"Hideous," Cat proclaimed. And then she did a Tyra impersonation, replete with flailing arms and a "You ain't got it going on, baby" thrown in for good measure, and effectively ground all conversation to a halt.

"The whole room got a little awkward," Mary confessed.

Stacie's offense wasn't helped when Cat said she didn't appreciate when President Obama didn't show up to a function. "Cat started bashing Obama and Tyra Banks, and they all happened to be black," she said. "It was just a little bit off-putting. ... She's just very brash and I find that borderline rude."

No, I don't think she's a racist, however, I do believe she has some prejudices against those of color. I think she bashed Obama because she wasn't important enough for him to RSVP her wedding or the award her "ex" husband received and Tyra...well, everyone can't like you. As I have observed her on the talk shows the crew have been on, her body posture and movements shows she doesn't want to be near Stacie.
Overall, I just think she's a little self-absorbed. I'd hate to see her when she falls on her face and have to pick up the pieces.

To know that this woman's husband works with the leaders of our country - whether Bush or Obama - and they therefore enjoy a comfortable lifestyle from the renumeration he receives - is absolutely idiotic. It is not only her obvious, blatant comments about Americans that are unacceptable - she/they infect their children with the same mentality - which in their eyes i am sure is quite pleasurable to do to small children. Her husband is no better - you can so blatantly see told in his comment about driving back from Memphis and he couldn't keep count of how many banjo pickers he had seen along the way. This man needs to be fired by our President (which I too was a Bush supporter)and return with his nasty brood to the "mother country". It is inconceivable - when their are so many other amazing American photographers that could be on our taxpayers payroll - that this man receives one penny from the America of which he and his wife speak so ill. In politics where it is necessary to "do business" with those whom you dislike and dislike you - a photographer on the taxpayer's dime - is not one of those necessary evils that must be endured. It is simply unacceptable.
