If you miss Bob Vila's home improvement shows ... well, this may not help much. Nevertheless, Robert Van Winkle, better known by his former stage name, Vanilla Ice, is set to teach you the tricks of the trade in a new home improvement show he's hosting for DIY Network, as reported by The Boombox. While most famous for his 1990 chart-topping hit "Ice Ice Baby," Van Winkle's first foray into reality television was a 2004 run on 'The Surreal Life.' He's stayed active in music throughout the decades, but 'The Vanilla Ice Project' will be the first time fans get to see his handyman side. "Over the last 15 years, [Van Winkle] has taught himself the basics of home improvement through hands-on experience," said representatives for DIY. "He calls the shots in this room-by-room makeover series."
The 10-episode series will chronicle Van Winkle's renovations of a 7,000 sq. ft. home in Palm Beach, FL. 'The Vanilla Ice Project' premieres Thu., Oct. 14 on DIY.
