Sean Patrick Flanery and Brigid Brannagh to Star in Hallmark Channel's 'Mystery Girl'

'The Hollywood Reporter' brings news today that the Hallmark Channel original movie 'Mystery Girl' will star a 'Boondock Saint' and an 'Army Wife'. Sean Patrick Flanery will play Ben, a lonely guy trying to find his dream girl on the Internet. We've all been there, right guys? Instead, he accidentally begins messaging with Charley, played by Brigid Brannagh, a single mom who just can't catch a break with men.

The project sounds like just another fluff piece using 'You've Got Mail' as a template. However, it will be interesting to see Flanery, a veteran known for bloody gun battles, 'The Dead Zone' and the upcoming 'Saw 3D,' romancing the sweet-cheeked Brannagh. Male viewers will probably keep expecting him to assassinate the annoying co-worker characters.

The TV movie is already in production and is scheduled to air next year on Hallmark Channel. The network that bills itself as family-friendly and inspirational continues to lead its ambitious schedule of more than 30 heartfelt original movies a year.
