Jackie Evancho has nothing special going on. someone trained her to imitate operatic tones.If you watch some videos of famous classical and opera singers, she does not even compare.She misses notes, her high notes that need to go higher do not.She does not excel from one note to another properly, which lets the song lose clarity.The way she is struggling probably can only perform one song a night.

There is an explanation for the remarkable talent this young child possesses and that her talent seems mature beyond her years. I believe she is an Indigo Child, and a gift to us all. There are many like her, for example look up Akiane Kramarik,one of the most remarkable painters of any age you have ever seen...Also a newly found painter Kieron Williamson...One look at these remarkable childrens' eyes and you can see they are Indigos....These special children are always greatly loved by most, but some unfortunately critized by those who simply do not understand...Fortunately they are confident and wise enough to ignore the ignorance of a few...Young painters cannot possibly fake their gift, and there are so many remarkable child musicians,so why can't you believe in a singer....Especially when she has made so may public appearances and a CD...

@Lindell - a question, since you are a teacher. What about her jaw shaking, isn't it unhealthy? Isn't she trying to push her voice and manufacture vibrator that a child voice doesn't have. Don't you think this can hurt her adult voice? She is very gifted, but shouldn't she be more careful with it?

It's a pretty voice, but if she keeps singing like that, she won't have a voice by the time she's 16. That's the sad truth of the matter. You can see how her jaw is shaking already. Whether it's a great performance or not, an operatic aria is designed to be sung by particular, mature voices. "O mio babbino caro" is appropriate for a lighter soprano voice, but not a 10-year old. It's a shame. I'm sorry to see your voice ruined, Jackie.
