Edie Falco Would Never Refuse a 'Sopranos' Movie

by Ryan McKee, posted Aug 16th 2010 1:28PM
For those who can't help but see Carmela Soprano while watching Edie Falco in 'Nurse Jackie,' all hope is not lost. 'The Sopranos' movie is a sweet dream for fans of the show, no matter what their thoughts were on the much-debated series finale. Unfortunately, like most dreams, the project seems bound to never materialize.

Although she admits the feature film is unlikely, Falco told The Hollywood Reporter that she's still interested.

"I would be fine if it never happened, but I would also love to go back there and see all the people I love again," she said." Who knows? I'm not the one making the decisions and I would jump at the chance to participate."

The recent Emmy nominee also talked about how representing 'Nurse Jackie' at the Emmys will differ from her near-annual nominations during 'The Sopranos' run.

"With 'The Sopranos,' I knew these people for 10 years, so it really was just a chance to hang out with longtime friends," she said. "We [this cast] don't know each other as well. This is the first time we get to do something like this as a group."

However, though she was tight with the 'Sopranos' crew, she confessed a cardinal sin relating to her current TV-viewing habits: She doesn't watch 'Mad Men.' What's even worse is that former 'Sopranos' producer Matt Weiner created the AMC show.

"I've actually spoken to Matt a couple of times congratulating him on the success, and I've been embarrassed to tell him that I haven't seen the damn show," she said. "I don't ever watch television -- I'm just not a television person, and it's crazy because I work in TV!"

Wow, she really twists the knife with that last statement. C'mon, it's not hip to say you don't watch TV anymore, not when it's become this good. Will someone please show this actress how to use DVR?
