Pat Tilllman's Mom Details How Military Deceived Her About Son's Death (VIDEO)

On 'Hardball with Chris Matthews' (Weekdays, 5 PM ET on MSNBC) guest host Chuck Todd interviewed Mary Tillman, mother of deceased football star turned Army Ranger Pat Tillman.

More than six ago, Tillman was killed in Afghanistan after coming under what the military initially disclosed to the public as enemy fire. Eventually, it was revealed that Tillman had in fact died in a friendly fire incident.

Speaking with Todd, Mary Tillman detailed evidence showing that the military had suspected Tillman's death was an unintentional fratricide from the very beginning.

Yet despite this, the chain of command failed to disclose these suspicions to Tillman's family -- which is in violation of military protocol -- and allowed them to prepare his memorial service as if he had died at hands of the enemy.

"It's ludicrous that these individuals did not know . . ." Tillman said. "This type of deception and duplicity goes on all the time. And it's a systemic problem."
