'True Blood' Rolling Stone Cover: Bloody Hot or Too Gruesome?

Have you been watching 'True Blood' and thought, "You know, this would be a great show if it only had more blood and nudity."? Probably not, especially with all the buff Weres this season. Still it's nice to know that Rolling Stone magazine is looking out for those of us who love seeing sexy, bloody naked people. The 'True Blood' threesome Alexander Skarsgård (vampire sheriff Eric Northman), Anna Paquin (telepath Sookie Stackhouse) and Stephen Moyer (gentleman vampire Bill Compton) appear on the cover of the latest Rolling Stone -- available on newsstands today. In order to out-sexy Katy Perry's cover last month, where she appears in her underwear, the HBO stars are buck naked and blood-splattered. They have joined such nude-cover greats as John Lennon, Lady Gaga and The Dixie Chicks.
If you can bring yourself to actually open the issue, you can read an extended feature on the show where reporter Vanessa Grigoriadi interviews the actors and 'True Blood's' creator Alan Ball (thankfully, he doesn't appear naked).
"To me, vampires are sex," Ball tells the magazine. "I don't get a vampire story about abstinence. I'm 53. I don't care about high school students. I find them irritating and uninformed."
There is no doubt which popular vampire series he's sinking his fangs into here. In his series, all beings whether supernatural or not, get plenty of changes to ignore abstinence. Yet, it's the vampires who can do it best, "at the astonishing rhythm of 120 bpm while simultaneously devouring one's neck.
"If we go from a base level, vampires create a hole in the neck where there wasn't one before," Moyer agrees. "It's a de-virginization. I think that makes vampires attractive. Plus, Robert Pattinson is just hot, right?"
Yes he is, Stephen. But he's going to have a hard time one-upping your guys this season.
| The nudity. Who doesn't love seeing the stars of your favorite show in the buff? | |

| The blood. It looks so real I'm about to pass out. | |
| Neither. The blood's gross and the nudity is unnecessary. |
