The 'Today Show' Team Enjoys a Gaffetastic Morning (VIDEO)

'Today'Maybe it's the Sun Chips or the air in New York today, or they found the wine stash for the fourth hour, but the cast of 'Today' (Weekdays, 7AM on NBC) seemed a little more confused than usual.

Al Roker was doing his usual meet-and-greets with the sign-holding masses outside when he spotted a young girl celebrating her birthday. "Is this your brother?" he asked in reference to the girl's younger sister. "Oh my gosh," he stumbled when corrected. "You're hair's cut kind of short."

Later, when testing a decibel meter with the aforementioned bags of chips, Roker revealed that Meredith Vieira had been confused by the device before taping. "She thought it was a breathalyzer."

Matt Lauer was quick to respond, "Old habits die hard." Vieira denied the confusion, but the thought of a breathalyzer reminded everyone of that fourth hour. "Keep that around for the fourth hour," Natalie Morales said. "The ladies may need it."

"Kathie Lee and Hoda," Roker retorted regarding the fourth hour hosts. "They'll bury the needle."

I LOVE the "Today Show"...they are so much fun! It really helps get me going in the morning, and yet, having said that, they also bring us serious stories in a professional, sensitive manner.

This very young girl may have moved beyond that moment without much distress had you allowed the moment to pass but now that you have added it to the world view as a big joke that she was mistaken for a boy, she may suffer self image problems for a long time. Nice sensitivity guys! Anything for a laugh right? The lack of sensitivity is appalling.
