Matt Blindsides Brendon, Uses the "Diamond Veto" on 'Big Brother' (VIDEO)
"Better luck next time, you big dummy." These are Matt's words to Brendon on the latest episode of 'Big Brother' (Thu., 8PM ET on CBS). To be fair, we don't want to necessarily endorse what Matt said. Although Brendon is kind of a big dummy -- so, yeah, maybe we will just go with that.[Spoiler alert.]
Brendon is continuing his campaign of terror as Head of Household. He's still enraged that the other housemates kicked off his skanky semi-girlfriend Rachel, and he's lashing out at anyone and everyone. Now, Matt and Lane are up on the dreaded elimination block. ... But then, Matt unleashes the magical DIAMOND POWER OF VETO.
The "Diamond Veto" is the coveted secret weapon that Matt has been holding onto. It allows him to remove himself from elimination -- and to put another contestant in his place. Before revealing the "Diamond," Matt makes a long mean speech to Brendon -- calling him out for his faults. This would be pretty rude, except that Brendon is actually fairly awful; so it's hard to feel that bad about the whole thing.
With Matt made invulnerable by the "Diamond Veto," he chooses to nominate ... Kathy in his place. Kathy is either the "nice one," or the "boring one," depending on your point of view. She's sort of slipped past the whole elimination process up to this point, mostly by virtue of being fairly unobtrusive.
But now, the cast members kick her out of the house, by a unanimous vote of 5-0. Kathy accepts her dismissal graciously and pleasantly. As she leaves, she merely asks the other contestants to remember to feed her fish. She reminds them that they need to be fed "twice a day."
Aw! Good old Kathy. But now she's gone.
Do you think someone else should have been kicked off, or was Kathy the right choice?
