'The Kids in the Hall' Return to TV (VIDEO)
'The Kids in the Hall' haven't appeared on network television since 1995. Which means that -- unless you're as old as this particular 'TV Squad' writer -- you might not even remember them. Yes, an entire generation has grown up without the 'Kids' uniquely bizarre brand of sketch-comedy. And that's sad!But no need to fret: the 'Kids' are back. And what's more, the 'Kids' are all right! (Sorry, we were sort of contractually obligated to make that joke.)
The new series 'The Kids in the Hall: Death Comes to Town' (Fri., 10PM ET on IFC), centers around the small -- and very depressing -- town of Shuckton, in Canada. The premiere episode of the series features the mayor (Bruce McCulloch) and his wife (played by Dave Foley), as they make a desperate -- and ultimately doomed -- attempt to bring the Olympics to their tiny town.
Cool. It's nice to have KITH back in our lives. And it's good to see that Dave Foley -- in his role as the mayor's wife -- hasn't lost his traditional talent for dressing up in drag.
