Amy Sedaris, Tom Cavanagh to Guest Star on 'Royal Pains'

Amy Sedaris'Royal Pains' will wrap up its second season this Thursday on the USA Network, but fans of the medical comedy already have something to look forward to for season 3.

First, they won't have to wait until next summer for new episodes -- season 3 will start in January 2011. And second, according to Fancast.com, the third season will feature two faces familiar to TV comedy fans: Amy Sedaris ('Strangers With Candy') and Tom Cavanagh ('Ed,' 'Scrubs,' 'Trust Me').

The duo will play golfers at a Hamptons golf tournament. Sedaris will appear as Nan Noonan, who partners will Jill for the contest, and Cavanagh will drop in as Jack O'Malley, a golf pro.

Other returning guest stars include Henry Winkler, Campbell Scott, Christine Ebersole and Patrick Heuser.

Thursday nights have been a ratings smash for USA, thanks to 'Royal Pains' and its 9PM lead-in, 'Burn Notice.' Tuesday's rookie entry, 'Covert Affairs,' was recently renewed for a second season.

Well, that came out of left field. I will definitely tune in for Amy Sedaris, but she does not seem like she'll fit in with the rest of the cast.
