'Dancing With the Stars' Season 11 Cast Rumors: Are Audrina, Brandy and The Situation in?

by Chris Harnick, posted Aug 24th 2010 3:30PM
Audrina PatridgeCould Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino be adding a 'Dancing With the Stars' paycheck to that hefty $5 million payday he's getting this year? It looks like it, and he may be joined by 'The Hills' star Audrina Patridge and singer Brandy Norwood.

According to OK! magazine and the Los Angeles Times, the 'Jersey Shore' star will be showing off his abs on ABC's dancing competition this fall. Don't be surprised if Sorrentino gets in at least one shirtless contest with professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

While ABC has been mum on the cast -- it plans to announce the celebrities Aug. 30 during 'The Bachelor Pad' -- rumors have been swirling about several names.

While we advocated for tabloid fixture Heidi Montag (yeah yeah, nobody should ever advocate for her to be anywhere on TV) to be on the show, Perez Hilton is reporting that her 'Hills' co-star Patridge will appear on the dance competition.

Also on tap? R&B singer and actress Brandy. She was most recently seen on her own reality series, VH1's 'Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business.'

Other rumored contestants who have been gaining a lot of buzz are 'Bachelorette' star Ali Fedotowsky and her beau Roberto Martinez. That's a lot of reality stars.

Over in the sports category, soccer star Landon Donovan and footballer Kurt Warner have been rumored as possible contestants.

And what about Lindsay Lohan? She's due out of rehab soon and according to E! Online, several professional dancers would welcome her.

"If she did it, I'd be game," Derek Hough told E!. "It's cool because you do see people turn their lives around on 'Dancing With the Stars.' It keeps them fit. It's nice to see people a year later who started on the new health regime and have kept on track."

I'm sure you'll have the really big names when you can get them. In the meantime, I enjoy getting to know some of the lesser lights and giving them a chance to shine. Thanks for all the great entertainment. I love every minute of it.....

I would like to see some CLASS WITH THE STARS. I don't think you should be GLORIFYING illegimitacy and baby mama drama. How about showing a little class and allowing POSITIVE ROLE MODELS to vie for the spots on the show. There are lots of minors watching the show and it would be appropriate for you to show people being rewarded for the Right behavior and not for screwing up!!

I heard on Extra last night...tv show(8/27) that Sarah Palin's daughter, Bristol was going to be a contestant. Her boyfriend/husband mentioned something about her wanting to be in the limelight of Hollywood...

This would be worse than Kate Gosselin.

I agree with your comments totally. Also there is such a large diverse pool of men and women to choose from each year. These older folks don't hold our attention as they can't do half the moves and that makes it alittle boring. Barb

The "big" stars are not paid enough to be on the show so we have to settle for the "wanna be stars."
Most I've never heard of when a new episode starts but then grow to like them. Would love to see Roberto and/or Ali on!!

To those people who were upset by Nicole winning last season, because she has dance backround, think how boring the show would have been without her. Evan and Erin were also wonderful to watch. All figure skaters are pros at following coreography, but I didn't hear anyone crying about that. Ballroom dancing is altogether different than the dancing Nicole does on a regular basis. I think she and Derek were fabulous week after week. It's my personal opinion, that most of the people who were upset by her talent were women who just can't stand the sight of any beautiful and talented female.Low self esteem. Nicole is a star, in keeping with the name of the show. Perhaps the show can come up with the money to have Simon Cowell on next season, after all he is the judge we all love to hate. It would be interesting to see Simon and Len together.

make an age restriction of 65 as its painful to watch some of these older folks trying and failing these past couple yrs. It was awful watching Buzz as he had NO rythem at all. Don't use all reality stars as thats boring. There are enough celebs to choose from so get some good ones. Barb

I love how everyone is so against reality stars..and yes, they are stars. Just like the athletes on the show.
