Brilliantly Awful Mayoral Candidate Breaks Into Song Mid-Interview (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Aug 25th 2010 8:58PM
On 'Hardball With Chris Matthews' (Weekdays, 5PM ET MSNBC) Matthews featured a video that demonstrates all that is great about local politics.

Chris Young, a mayoral candidate from Providence, Rhode Island, was so woefully unprepared for an appearance on a local TV show that he ignored his camera and read directly from his notes. And what was so important and complicated that he couldn't trust his memory?
"I got in politics to bring attention to the issues that matter to the people of the state of Rhode Island," he deadpanned.

Then things really got strange, as Young proceeded to sing a song. Finally, he asked the host if he could come back with his band, and she deflected the request with a fittingly awkward handclasp

"I'm just guessing, but I don't think this guy is going to get a call back," Matthews concluded. However, we do think viral video fame is obtainable for Mr. Young.
