Jerry Springer And Sean Hannity Face Off Over Obama (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Aug 27th 2010 2:30PM
Sometimes people forget that before dumbing down television forever, Jerry Springer was the mayor of Cincinnati. We're also reminded -- every time a political bloviater like Sean Hannity does his thing -- how similar the cable news shout-shows are to the kind of daytime yell-fests that Springer revolutionized.

All of which is to say we can't imagine two men more equally qualified to debate politics than Hannity and Springer.

They faced off over President Obama on 'Hannity' (weeknights, 9 PM ET on Fox News.) Hannity -- surprise, surprise -- took the position that Obama is a failed president.

"In spite of Obama's failure in every category, you still support the guy. You can't look in that camera and tell America that you think he's done a good job as president," Hannity challenged Springer.

"America, I think Barack Obama has done a good job as president," Springer shot right back. "In fact I'd say even better than good."

After Springer repeatedly refused to come over to Hannity's side on the President's job performance, Hannity's professional wrestler instincts burst out:

"I'm going to come through this screen and I'm going to strangle you," Hannity jested, menacingly

"Then you can be on my show," Springer responded, with all the easy charm of a politician.

It's mindboggling that someone who supported George W Bush can say that Obama has failed in every respect. Then again, this is the person who said that there were no terrorist attacks during Bush's presidency, so I guess it's no surprise.

Jerry Springer is a piece of trash just like the majority of his more culturally 'liberal guests' on his television show. Anyone who thinks he's a great politician must be a Democrat and/or one of the ideas that has attended his show live or was a guest on it.
