Jimmy Fallon's Emmy Opening Number Celebrates 'Glee' With Star-Studded Rendition of 'Born to Run' (VIDEO)

Emmy Award opening numberEver wanted to see 'Mad Men' star Jon Hamm back his thang up into TV legend Betty White? Well, you can thank Jimmy Fallon for making it happen in the 'Glee'-themed skit, song, and dance served as the Emmys' opening number.

Hamm, White and a myriad of other TV stars joined Fallon and the 'Glee' cast as they performed an all-star rendition of Bruce Springsteen's 'Born to Run' to raise money for Emmy tickets.

As Fallon and the Gleeks ran through a backstage area looking to recruit members for a regional glee club competition with a cash prize, they ran into '30 Rock''s Tina Fey, Jane Lynch (dressed as Sue Sylvester), 'Lost' star Jorge Garcia, 'The Vampire Diaries' star Nina Dobrev, 'Community' star Joel McHale and Hamm, who was practicing some sweet dance moves with his coach, Betty White. (Is there anything that woman can't do?) Unfortunately, White didn't make the cut -- and neither did Kate Gosselin, who gamely poked fun at her stiff 'Dancing With the Stars' performance.

Fallon and his makeshift crew broke out into a cover of Bruce Springsteen's 'Born to Run' and, after donning matching outfits (and Bruce's iconic blue jeans and t-shirt for Fallon), eventually made it to the Nokia Theater stage to finish their song live, with former Journey guitarist-turned-'American Idol' host Randy Jackson joining them onstage.

If his dancing skills didn't win you over, there's one more reason to swoon over Hamm: He does a mean Bruce Springsteen impression.

Did you like Jimmy's 'Glee'-themed Emmy opener? Did we miss any of the famous folks who participated?

I enjoyed the Emmy's -- I thought Fallon did an excellent job as host and every number was well executed & hilarious. Tina Fey rocks!

What 'ARE' you? 'RETARDED?' Jimmy 'FALLON' sang live 'FOR' about eight 'YEARS' on Saturday Night 'LIVE.' His 'LEFT' ball knows 'MORE' than you ever 'WILL' about music, and 'CAN' probably spell 'BETTER' than you can 'TOO.' Also 'HIS' right 'NUT' knows how 'QUOTES' 'WORK,' you dullard '.'

This might be somewhat off topic regarding the opening number, but about the show in general. I really thought that SOMEONE would mention the fiftieth anniversary of "The Andy Griffith Show". How about an honorary Emmy for Andy who never won anything from the Emmy Award people? This is a beloved show that's endured for fifty years and has almost never been off the air! I remember that they honored the 50th anniversary of "I Love Lucy" back in 2001. It would have been nice and there certainly was a lot of "garbage" they could have easily eliminated to make room for it.

Jimmy Fallon did a good job. You know what would be fun is if (for the next award show...like the Oscars) would be is to get 5 people that they would want to host the show/awards and post the names on the Internet and have "Us the people" vote online as to who we would like to see host the show. I mean WE are the ones that keep these actors in their jobs right? If not for us then who would watch the shows?? We need to vote for the host! I think that would be so fun to vote and see who would win "by us" to host the next awards show. We had people over last nigh watching and we all had fun saying who we would like to see host next. We the people need to vote. So...Mr.Oscar,Mr.Emmy give us 5 names next award show and let US vote. That would be so fun! I even think that the hosts would get a kick out of it :) Don't get wrong, Jimmy did a great job, but it would be fun to let US vote = )

Last night's Emmy show was pathetic. Jimmy Fallon should never show his face on TV again. And what was with the stupid questions they asked the nominees before they read the winners. THE WORST ever show. I couldn't watch it more that an hour. It was torture.

Okiedokie sooooooo .....does Kate Gossline(spelling?plus who cares lol)want to keep making a fool of herself on TV??? I mean we all seen her on Dancing w/the stars. I mean come on...she was not the best dancer if you know what I mean. We were laughing at home and wondering what Jonboy G. thought of her last night. Even last night on stage they put her in the back of the dancers to not have her up front. I really don't think I've seen anyone dance so bad and stiff! :) Don't worry Kate fans you will see her dance again on some stupid show out there : ) Really tho - that was a bad choice to put her in the show. Bad...really, really bad.
