Have all the adults completely abandoned the reins to the embarrassingly limited Jimmy Fallon and the amazingly unfunny Tina Fey? My friends and I were FLABBERGASTED at the lack of cleverness, humor and general entertainment in the show -- it was more like awards given at a high school graduation than the Emmys. The important stuff was fleeting (like names of nominees, actors, etc. which flashed too quickly to be read, and didn't remain on the screen with competitors before the winner was announced), and the incidental, tediously boring garbage was FEATURED (like Fallon's THREE separate song performances, as well as costume changes in between -- yeeeeeeesh!)... It was like a nightmare in which Fallon's ego exploded on stage, while all the interesting celebrities were hidden in the audience. He was TOO MUCH of TOO LITTLE. And it was distasteful to see the moronic Fallon mock Temple Grandin's exuberant bear-hug embrace by grasping an unsuspecting Tom Selleck when he appeared for a presentation; it was obvious that Selleck thought the gesture was immature and ludicrous. Also ill-advised and inappropriate was the band striking up the song "Killer Joe" after Dr. Jack Kevorkian stood for recognition when Al Pacino won an award (since it wasn't even written on the screen, I don't know in which category the award was presented) for "You Don't Know Jack." The 2010 Emmys was a stunningly immature, unimaginably shoddy, painfully boring waste of time. I want my three hours back.
