On 'Entourage,' Ari Needs to Learn How to Shut Up (VIDEO)

On 'Entourage,' Ari Needs to Learn How to Shut UpBeing an agent in Hollywood obviously requires a "Type-A" personality and a certain amount of egotism. But on 'Entourage' (Sun., 10:30PM ET on HBO), Ari Gold may be going too far with these things. There's being "aggressive," and then there's crossing the line. And Mr. Gold (played by Jeremy Piven) is definitely crossing it.

[Spoiler alert.]

Ari's personal and professional lives have been collapsing lately, and what happens tonight makes everything even worse. While out to dinner with Mrs. Gold (Perrey Reeves), Ari runs into rival agent Amanda (Carla Gugino). It seems that Carla is working to bring an NFL football team to Los Angeles. This was originally Ari's brilliant idea. So he's understandably annoyed.

He's also upset about tapes that Amanda leaked to 'Deadline Hollywood' -- tapes which show Ari yelling at his employees and being a general all-around jerk. Ari comes up with a bold and decisive plan: he'll just scream at Amanda about all of this, while standing in the middle of the restaurant. Here's part of his insane speech to her: "I have never hit a woman in my entire life. But I swear to God, in my mind right now, I am pummeling your smug face to a pulp." Whoa! Settle down there, dude.

Of course, the bitter irony is that Amanda didn't release the incriminating tapes. And as for the whole NFL football team issue, Amanda was still trying to involve Ari in the deal. In fact, she had brought league members to that very same restaurant. Now, Ari has yelled and humiliated himself in front of them -- so now he really is out of the deal.

All of this indicates why Ari should really learn to shut up. Or at least, he should learn to think before he speaks.
