But maybe the Emmys weren't that pulled in to that edgy crime drama series in Miami Vice back then in 1985. They never expected a show to come out of left field and be a major hit like that. Don Johnson could have won that. It's good that he remembers that just as the Emmy Awards just took place. Philip Michael Thomas should have been nominated.

I don't really blame either Don or Jay for being upset. Though Jay hasn't been as funny as in the past I can see his point. However Don Johson has always been a great actor and still is. I even had him and most of the rest of the original Miami Vice cast in mind when writing notes for one of my books, that would pick up where the series left off with an up to date twist on it, of wich I will not go into detail about here. Stalone has already beat me to the punch on another book I was working on for a movie I had in mind, and almost with the identicle title & list of actors to play the charactor parts. That being the movie "THE EXPENDABLES", what can I say, great minds think alike. I seldom if ever watch any of the awards shows because it's been very evident for some time now there are too many politics & shady behind the door deals going on for any of it to be legitimate in my opinion. As for whom deserves what awards, the opinions vary from one "clique" to another and those that truly do deserve them often get passed over unjustly. Also some powers that be in the field of making some of those choices base their decisions on faulty information such as ticket sales, etc. without taking into account the many people who can't afford to purchase the tickets or even get the opportunity to go see them perform. Therefore their oppinions aren't counted. Also some of the opinions posted about this subject are primarily from people too young to know the many more deserving talented actors, comics, etc. They stay too much within the realms of their own peers limited tastes that stray them from any sense of common decency and have other very limited exposures. It's a wonder they even got beyond their annoyingly stupid cartoons.

My my talk about being sore losers! After stomping their sour grapes, it's very unlikely either needs worry about an Emmy. Ofcourse, neither should worry about that since Emmy is a tribute neither to looks nor TV longevity. I thought all of this year's winners were most deserving. I was especially thrilled with Pacino's win! He's always BRILLIANT.
