Jessica Alba Jokes About Overfeeding Her Baby Daughter for Beauty Rest (VIDEO)

Jessica Alba Jokes About Overfeeding Her Baby Daughter for Beauty RestParenting can be tough, right? One of the hardest parts of being a parent has to be getting up really early every morning, at whatever time that your kid wakes up. Luckily, on the 'Late Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM on CBS), we get some special tips for avoiding this entire problem.

Actress Jessica Alba has a daughter -- Honor Marie -- who just turned two years old. Honor doesn't get out of bed until 9am. Host David Letterman is stunned -- his own son wakes up nearly three hours before that.

Dave asks Jessica for her secret -- her method for making sure Honor doesn't disturb her beauty rest. And here that is: "When she was -- like -- six months old, I would overfeed her," Alba says."So, when [kids are] really full, they don't wake up hungry," and hence, they sleep really late. Gosh ... interesting technique, Jessica!

After David hears about this method of overfeeding Honor Marie, he sort of widens his eyes in honor. Jessica starts laughing, and suddenly realizes a slight flaw in her plan. " ... That sounds abusive!" she says. Well, yeah, it sort of does -- when you put it like that.

Alba goes on to say that her daughter weighed as much at six months old as she currently does now -- a year and a half later. "Wow!" is Dave's reply. "She was so big!" Jessica adds, spreading her arms to indicate the size. Um, Jessica? We're going to hope that you don't use this massive "overfeeding" technique again if you have any more kids, okay?

abusive to over feed a child she needs parenting lessons or common sense, & skip the time out it becomes a habit.

You do what you can to get them sleep if you are on a hectic schedule. Feeding them until they're full isn't abusive. If the child over-ate she would end up with a tummy ache and then everyone would be up all night instead of sleeping late.
