Jewel Stole Someone Else's Car, But at Least She Didn't Steal a Baby (VIDEO)

Singer-songwriter Jewel appeared on the latest episode of 'Chelsea Lately' (weeknights, 11PM ET on E!). While she was on the show, Jewel confessed to a fairly heinous crime. In legal terms, it's a little thing called grand theft auto. Yes, the singer stole someone else's car. (Don't worry, though. It wasn't really her fault.)It seems that while Jewel was staying a hotel during a recent vacation, she accidentally zoomed off in a car that didn't belong to her. She drove in it for a really long time without noticing this, too. Eventually, the manager of the hotel had to call Jewel and point out that she had, in fact, "boosted" someone's "ride." But it could have been worse!
How so, you ask? Well -- when Jewel turned around to glance at the car she had "borrowed," she noticed that there was a baby seat in the back ... and also tons of baby DVDs spread out everywhere in the car. So Jewel could have potentially driven off with someone's infant child. Luckily, she didn't, so that all worked out.
Once she is done talking about the whole "accidental theft" topic, Jewel makes a bit of an awkward segue. She mentions to host Chelsea Handler that she is currently trying to have a baby of her own. Oh, well then. See! So Jewel wouldn't even need to abduct a kid. She just wants to have one with her husband Ty Murray, who happens to be a professional rodeo cowboy. The whole thing totally puts Jewel in the clear, infant-snatching-wise.
