'America's Got Talent' - 'Episode 528' Semi-Finals Results Recap

America's Got Talent(S05E28) "We had more standing ovations than ever before." - Nick

Last night's acts were so phenomenal (except three or four that were so-so) that it's almost impossible to 100 percent predict which acts will get a spot in the Top 10 this week. For sure, a lot of fans will be angry because some extremely deserving acts will not return next week.

Which acts did America voted for? Are your favorites returning for the Top 10? Read on for the answers as well as the list of the Top 10 finalists who will perform next week for a spot in the Top 4.

First up were Debra Romer, Michael Grasso, Murray, and Nathaniel Kenyon. My first thought when they walked on stage was that the results show would start with an upset and Nick would announce that everyone was sent packing. After all, the producers and Nick tricked us last week during the result show and could do it again! Luckily, one of these acts made it through: magician Michael Grasso! Mark your calendars 'AGT' fans, we finally have a magician going to the finals! A first!

Le Rêve from Wynn Las Vegas performed an impressive and highly skilled dance/gymnastic/acrobatic act.

Next up were Fighting Gravity and Jeremy. Before he chatted with Sharon to get her thoughts on both acts, Nick told us only one would go through. Sneaky Nick, he ended up announcing that both acts were going through! They both deserved a spot and will help add some diversity in next week's finale.

Singer Jason Derulo performed his hit single 'Ridin' Solo.'

Next we were treated with a surprise guest, former 'AGT' host Jerry Springer! As Nick told us a few times so far this season, Jerry will be the host of the 'AGT' tour. If you want to learn more about the tour, including if it'll come to a city near you, check the show's official website. Jerry mentioned that fan favorites will also perform; I hope they bring Connor along.

It was now time for Haspop, Jackie Evancho, and Master Alexander Bui to come front and center. It was easy to guess that only one would be going through, as three acts already went through and the judges will chose the fifth one. It's not really surprising that Jackie was announced as the one moving on. But it's reassuring to hear Nick confirm it, as voters could have decided to vote for other acts, thinking that Jackie was a safe bet and that others would vote for her. We've seen that happen on other shows.

Studio One Young Beast Society, Ashley & Michael, and Alice were the last ones asked to come to the stage. Nick announced that Michael & Ashley are not moving on.

The judges had to pick one act between Studio One and Alice. Before they made their decision, my vote was going to Studio One. Both are fantastic and should both go through, but based on the other nine acts already in the Top 10, having Studio One move on would add more diversity in the finalists group, as five singing acts were already announced as being finalists.

It was a tough call for the judges. Piers voted for Studio One. Sharon voted for Studio One. This meant that Howie's vote wouldn't change a thing, so Nick didn't ask him which act he was voting for. Studio One is moving on!

The five acts moving on are: Michael Grasso, Fighting Gravity, Jeremy, Jackie Evancho and Studio One. I got four out of five right . Not bad considering the quality of this week's acts. How did you do?

The Top 10 acts are:

- Singers: Michael Grimm, Prince Poppycock, Taylor Matthews, Christina & Ali, Jackie Evancho

- Dancers: Anna & Patryck, Studio One Young Beast Society

- Magicians: Michael Grassso

- Novelty: Fighting Gravity, Jeremy

Next week, the Top 10 acts will perform and four will move on and perform one last time Sept. 14. The 'AGT' Season 5 winner will be crowned in a two-hour season finale that will air Sept. 15.

He's just doing Trials bike riding. People go out into the mountains and do these things on rocks they've never seen before. Look, I understand people don't know a ton about that, but all he did was come inside. He's not really that talented at Trials riding. Mediocre at best. So, sure, it's impressive if you've never seen anything like it. But if you have, his performance is passable, but not outstanding. Also, if you recall, in his first audition Piers buzzed him because he missed tricks. So, it wasn't just last night. But my point is, elevating Jeremy would be like taking any single player out of the NBA, putting them on a halfcourt, and then dazzling us with an aerial dunk extravaganza. Sure, it'd be impressive. And if none of us had ever seen a pro-basketball game we might say it was amazing and very talented. It isn't, and neither is Jeremy's "talent".

He actually doesn't miss half his tricks. The only trick he's missed in all his performances came last night. And that's understandable because of his accident. Sharon truly pegged it when she called him this generation's Evel Knievel. Though I will agree that Christina and Ali (along with Taylor Matthews) are really out of place and it is tragic that Arc Attack and Alice Tan Ridley (or Michael and Ashleigh) couldn't have been in place of them.

The fact that the two tone-deaf sisters are there and Alice Tan Ridley isn't is tragic. That's the only unfair bit, I think... those two definitely don't deserve to be in that group of performers.

Then again, I'd rather have had ArcAttack than a stunt bike rider who misses half his tricks. I mean... could you watch that for an hour? Could he even do that for an hour? 8 times a week? Without killing himself or producing a boring show?
