On Wednesday's 'Larry King Live' (weekdays, 9PM ET on CNN), the entire program was spent discussing the West Memphis Three. In 1993, the three teenagers from West Memphis, Ark. were convicted of killing three younger boys. One of the three convicted murders, Damien Echoles, is currently on death row.Over the years, questions have been raised about the fairness of the trial, and many people -- including a host of celebrities -- have demanded the case be retried. Last night, King interviewed West Memphis Three supporters Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam and Natalie Maines of The Dixie Chicks.
"It took years of educating myself and reading and even helping funding new discoveries that allowed me to have what now I feel is 100 percent belief in their innocence," Vedder declared. "Now we've really got more evidence, and now with conviction we can say without a doubt these young man don't deserve to be [in prison.]"
"Absolutely," Maines responded, when King asked if she believes in their innocence. "There is zero proof. There's just zero proof, so I absolutely believe in their innocence."
