Harvey Keitel to Replace Steve Carell in 'The Office'?

We've heard plenty of suggestions on whom 'The Office' should hire to replace Steve Carell when the actor's contract expires at the end of this season, but the latest rumor is the most unexpected. Producer Paul Lieberstein, who plays Carell's 'Office'-mate Toby, wants Harvey Keitel to fill Michael Scott's shoes.Yep, you read that right. The veteran actor, who has worked with Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino, is Lieberstein's first choice for the role. "He's probably the only guy who can do it, and he's doing TV now," Lieberstein told E! Online. True -- Keitel starred on the one-season wonder 'Life On Mars.'
But still ... seriously? "Yes, absolutely," Lieberstein said. "He's a real tough guy, but I saw him in 'Life on Mars' and I saw a lot more comedy in his work, just little slivers of it, little things he would do that made me think he's capable of a lot more than what [he's done]."
There's just one problem: Despite having a role already in mind for Keitel ("He's an old salesman who thought he could retire and the stock market went down, and he has to come out of retirement to work for a few years."), Lieberstein said he hasn't actually asked Keitel to do it.
"I haven't started any talks with his people, but Harvey would do a great job -- a very different energy," he said. "And we don't want to bring in another Michael, having someone play a very similar character because we have such a high regard for Steve."
Do you think Keitel would be a good fit for 'The Office'?
