Duff Goldman Launches Rocket Cake on 'Ace of Cakes' (VIDEO)

On 'Ace of Cakes' (Thu, 10PM ET on Food), Duff Goldman reaches new heights when he launches a rocket-propelled cake high into the air.

Goldman stacks three metallic gold cakes on top of a rocket, carefully encases them in a protective housing, then presses a button on a control panel which launches the rocket into the sky. Once the rocket reaches a certain altitude, the engine cuts out and a parachute deploys, allowing the cakes to float back to Earth.

However, Goldman's cakes take a beating on their trip, and arrive back at terra firma a little worse for wear. Still, Goldman slices off a piece and gamely serves it up.
