Major Garrett, Fox News's White House correspondent, is leaving the network after eight years to return to his roots as a print journalist.

On 'America Live' (Weekdays, 1 PM ET on Fox News) host Megyn Kelly wished Garret a heartfelt goodbye.

"God Major, we are going to miss you desperately," Kelly told him.

"It's been a privilege and an honor to serve you," Garrett said to the Fox News audience.

"What I've tried to do every day at this job ... is to serve this audience, as best I can, and as aggressively as I can," he continued. "And that's my only task in this business ... I'll do it differently now, but I'll never, ever forget, and I will always fondly remember, my days here."
