Steve Buscemi Blames Paul Reiser for Ruining His Comedy Career (VIDEO)

Steve Buscemi Blames Paul Reiser for Ruining His Comedy CareerDid you know that Steve Buscemi once wanted to be a stand-up comic? It didn't work out, so he had to fall back on the whole acting thing. But why didn't it work out? Well, according to Steve, it's all Paul Reiser's fault.

Buscemi tells his sad tale on 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC). Back in the '80s, Steve was trying to "make it" as a comic, and would show up at the Improv Comedy Club in New York City -- along with other young comedians like Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David. These guys were picked to perform, but Steve never was ... because the club manager didn't like his act.

But one night at 1:00AM, there was literally no one else left to perform, and Buscemi was finally about to go on stage. ... Which is when a young man named Paul Reiser walked into the club and stole away Steve's moment of glory. Darn it! Paul got to perform instead of Buscemi, to which we say: A curse upon you, Paul Reiser!

It's a very sad story. However, host Jay Leno gives Steve a bit of redemption. He shows a clip from 'Mad About You' where Steve gets to scream at Paul Reiser for ruining his career. Granted, Steve isn't actually yelling about the real life stand-up comedy incident. Instead, he's doing a little something called acting. And really, in a way, maybe things all worked out for the best. We have a feeling that Mr. Buscemi is much better off as an actor.

Well Paul landed the TV series on NBC in the '90s and Steve didn't. So why is he complaining more that 25 years later since the '80s?

Steve is a good guy from Valley Stream, NY. Everybody liked him in high school. The fact that people are scared of him, just shows what a good actor he is. I am sure he was not a scary ice cream man!

Am I missing something here ?? What is he complaining about ? It seems he is better off as an actor ( and a darn good one at that ) than a comedian anyway.
