Read on to get answers and insights from the Season 5 finalists and don't miss tonight's performances when 'America's Got Talent,' hosted by Nick Cannon, airs tonight on NBC at 8PM ET.
Prince PoppycockOn how Prince Poppycock came about:
"I was studying opera and I wanted to start performing in nightclubs. A friend asked me to perform at her club called 'Wig Out,' but the only stipulation was that I had to wear a wig. The character grew from there. The alliteration 'Prince Poppycock' came into my head. I started getting booked and began opening for various bands. It wasn't calculated. It just snowballed."
On if people expect him to behave like Prince Poppycock does when he's off stage:
"Yes. People expect me to live as an affected 'Dandy,' which is an old school metro-sexual. But I'm much more interested in ideas and in art rather than in creating any kind of personal edification or temple to my ego. I couldn't keep up living like that."
Jackie EvanchoOn when she started singing:
"I was eight years old. [My family and I] had seen 'Phantom of the Opera.' We really loved it. I started singing some songs from that around the house. My mom entered me in something called 'Kean Idol' in Pittsburgh.
On where she'd like to sing:
"There are big spiders [in Europe.] I saw them on the Discovery Channel. So...I don't like going there. But if I could go anywhere I'd go to Oregon. It seems like a really nice place."
On what she'll sing tonight:
"I can't really say what the song is that I'm singing, but it's a beautiful, peaceful song. I step my game up by having my notes go higher and higher."
Anna and PatrykOn getting positive remarks from Piers Morgan, the toughest judge:
"It feels good. Everyone knows that he gives strikes a lot. He's a good judge. We feel good he's given us compliments." - Patryk
"People think Piers is sour, but I don't think he's like that. We're happy he enjoys our talent and he gives us good comments." - Anna
On meeting any of the dancing pros at 'Dancing With the Stars' (which tapes in the studio adjacent to 'AGT'):
"We haven't yet, but I want to meet 'The Situation.'" - Patryk.
"We've met a few of the pro dancers [before this.] We met Maks [Chmerkovskiy] and Derek [Hough.] We want to meet 'The Situation.'" - Anna
Studio One Young Beast SocietyOn why your dance act stood out among so many this season:
"We were more versatile. We have tricks and an urban style and we're all about entertainment and performing to our fullest. We push ourselves and it's paid off." - Kelly
On where the name 'Studio One Young Beast Society' came from:
"My dad made it up. We are all very young. We're beasts and we're in a little society so it's [Studio One] Young Beast Society." - Marlee
On getting good comments from Piers:
"Piers saying that we put the time into our work is completely true. We put in every minute we can. We're creative with our moves and that's the challenge we have." - Kelly
Jeremy VanschoonhovenOn if he's afraid he'll be gravely injured:
" I don't try things I'm not ready for. I've only been to the emergency room once. I won't even go riding without my helmet. A friend and I went riding and I insisted we wear helmets. He crashed and hit his head, breaking his helmet. He probably would have died without it. He always wears one now."
On riding his bike across the judges' table:
(Laughs) "If they'd allow it, I probably could. I'd love to break the buzzers as I rode by."
Michael GrassoOn how he answers questions about how he does magic:
(Wryly) "I tell them I do it with witchcraft and sorcery."
Did the audience hearing the train that Murray the magician made 'disappear' backstage help you?
"I do. It tied in with his background, but I don't think the illusion was very effective."
What he hopes to take away from the show:
"I feel as if I'm already a winner. I'm the first magician to make it into the Top 10."
Fighting GravityOn how 'Fighting Gravity' defies gravity:
"We can't really say how it's done. We can say there's a lot of heavy lifting involved. We hit the gym a few hours every day to make sure we're in top shape." - Caleb Sharp, Fighting Gravity
"We like to keep the illusion pretty secret. People are starting to figure out some things." - Sean McDonough
On their parents' reactions to them taking time off from school to perfect their act:
"We're not in school this semester; we knew we had to give this everything we had, all our effort. I think I speak for all of us when I say our parents realize that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. They realize that we all plan on going back to school. " - Phil DeVerna
Michael GrimmOn being on stage and learning that all three acts (himself, Prince Poppycock and Taylor Matthews) were advancing:
"I was happy and pleased. I was next to two very talented people and I thought I was being voted off."
What he hopes to take away from the show:
"That's a really good question. There's so much. I hope this experience opens some doors for me and that I can get my grandparents a new house."
Christina and AliOn people calling Christina "Ali" and Ali "Christina":
"It happens all the time. Sometimes I don't correct them." - Ali
On if she's gotten taller since the competition began:
"Maybe. A lot of people have been asking me that. But I don't know. I'm almost as tall as [Ali.]" - Christina
On Piers Morgan:
"We got to meet Piers the other day. It was incredible. He is one of the nicest men I've ever met. He has a reputation to live up to [as a judge], but behind the scenes he is one of the greatest people I know. I've grown to love him." - Ali
Taylor MatthewsOn taking his act up a notch for the semi-finals:
"I'm actually going to bring it back down to the roots with what got me on the show to begin with." - Taylor Matthews
On making it into the Top 10 as a singer even though the show doesn't want to be a clone of 'American Idol':
"I don't think it's necessarily hard for singers to make it through. It's easier for audiences to connect to singers. The other acts are great, but the audiences can't necessarily get as connected with them."
Win or lose, what do you hope to take away from being on the show?
"I hope to be able to go out and play music. This is what I love doing. I hope that America keeps wanting to see me play"
