News Roundup: 'Glee' Premiere Songs, Freddy Krueger on 'Chuck' and More

'Glee' will kick off its second season in an 'Empire State of Mind.' Yep, according to Rolling Stone, everybody's favorite high school musical show will feature Jay-Z's hit song, as well as Lady Gaga's 'Telephone,' Travie McCoy's 'Billionaire' and Poison's "Every Rose Has Its Thorn."And since New Directions will be heading to New York for nationals, the show will also pay homage to Broadway by performing theater hits 'What I Did for Love' from 'A Chorus Line,' 'Getting to Know You' from 'The King and I.'
• Robert Englund, the original Freddy Krueger, will guest star on 'Chuck.' Englund will appear in the Halloween-themed episode as an evil scientist. [Ausiello Files]
• Celia Weston has been cast as Cam's mom on ABC's 'Modern Family.' Weston has appeared in numerous films and TV programs including the early 1980s sitcom 'Alice' and most recently 'Memphis Beat.' [TV Guide]
• 'Bonanza' creator David Dortort died Sept. 5 in his Los Angeles home. 'Bonanza' aired for 14 years on NBC and Dortort also created 'The High Chaparral.' He was 93. [Reuters]
• James Franco's behind-the-scenes documentary about 'Saturday Night Live' is coming to theaters in early 2011. The film chronicles the making of an 'SNL' episode from the first meeting with the host to the curtain call. [Entertainment Weekly]
• 'Glee' star Matthew Morrison will release his solo album in February 2011. Morrison described the album as eclectic and my tour after its release. [Hollywood Reporter]
• Jennifer Morrison of 'House' fame is in the running for a significant part on 'How I Met Your Mother.' Minka Kelly and Jacinda Barrett are also in the running for the recurring role of an activist who clashes with Ted. [Ausiello Files]
• TV veteran Sam Anderson, known for roles on shows such as 'Lost' and 'ER' will guest star on 'NCIS.' Anderson will play a teacher to a kidnapped student. [TV Guide]
