On the Scene: 'America's Got Talent' Top 10 - Could Anna's Fall Lead to Victory?

How great was the Season 5 Top 10 performance show of 'America's Got Talent?' Judge Piers Morgan didn't even come close to hitting his buzzer. "Not once," host Nick Cannon says. "He had all positive things to say."
"I got to the end of the night and realized I've never been through a whole show without buzzing anyone before," Morgan told AOL TV Squad after taping. "I couldn't believe it. Any of these acts now will have a great career. This is the first time we've had that."
"All the acts rose to the occasion," judge Howie Mandel said. "What a show this Top 10 was. Can't we just have a Top 10 and go home?"
"I agree," judge Sharon Osbourne said. "They're all so different and they're all at the top of their game. How do you pick?"
"Split the million up 10 ways," Cannon said.
Alas, the rules are that only four acts will advance to next week's finals. "My bets would be Jackie [Evancho], she has to be there," Piers Morgan predicts. "Poppycock was very strong. Michael Grimm was great. Fighting Gravity was brilliant.I thought Michael Grasso was brilliant... Where do you stop?"
Certainly not with ballroom dancers Anna and Patryk.
The two 12-year-olds had the only noticeable mishap of the night when Anna fell as she was coming down the steps at the top of their routine. They rebounded instantly and went on to perform a dance that likely would have earned them a '30' if they'd done it on 'Dancing With the Stars.'Rather than hurt the couple's chances of advancing to the finals, Anna and Patryk's "the show must go on" attitude may win them more votes.
"Anna may have put herself in a better position," Mandel theorized. "You don't know how America is going to respond to that. I think it will be surprising."
"It was a dramatic moment," Morgan said. "She picked herself up and got back up. She showed real guts."
Osbourne, who told Anna exactly what she needed to hear ("We all fall down"), agreed and added that it's anyone's contest to win.
"Taylor [Matthews] is a dark horse in this race," she noted. "He's got an angelic face. He plays piano and guitar. He's clever, and talented."
Christina and Ali can't be discounted either."It's indisputable that part of their charm and appeal is their story," Morgan said. "These two girls, like the other two in their family, are suffering from this terribly crippling illness [cystic fibrosis.] It's heartbreaking. To see the pleasure and happiness that they have on stage is so intoxicating. I love them. They're great girls."
Mandel isn't sure who will go through.
"I can't pick who's going through," Mandel said. "The acts that I love and what America responds to can be two different things."
Mandel, however, can call one winner already -- himself. "All kidding and jabbing between Piers and me aside, I love being on this show," he said. "I feel like I won."
