Julianna Margulies Cursed Out Barack Obama's Chief of Staff (VIDEO)

Julianna Margulies Cursed Out Barack Obama's Chief of StaffMaking a college graduation speech must be nerve-wracking. There's all that pressure to inspire the young people of tomorrow, plus the fear of making a fool of yourself in public. Certainly, actress Julianna Margulies had some trouble with it.

On 'Late Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS), she tells David Letterman how her terror of giving a bad speech led her to curse out Rahm Emanuel, the current White House Chief of Staff. Which was really a potentially awful idea on her part.

It seems that Rahm and Julia attended the same college in New York. But Rahm gave the graduation address the year before Margulies had to do it. This freaked her out, because Emanuel gave a "great speech," and now he was being followed by "some TV actress." But luckily (or unluckily), Margulies got to express her frustration with the Chief of Staff. Julianna and Rahm randomly bumped into each other at a White House dinner. So the actress went straight up to him and said this: "You're such an a**hole."

Wow. We wouldn't generally recommend doing that to one of the most powerful men in American politics. But then, Rahm has been accused of using way too much profanity himself, so he was probably okay with it.

For the record, Dave seemed impressed that Julianna was willing to give a graduation speech at all. The very prospect seemed to frighten the talk show host. "I would never, never do that," he said. "I would not know what to say." You would think that as a comedian, Dave would be a little more comfortable with public speaking, but apparently not.

By the way, the school that Julianna and Rahm went to is Sarah Lawrence College; an awesome college with many famous alumni. Sadly, one of the college's least famous graduates is ... the dude who wrote the column that you are reading right now. So, now you know that.

Rae,here's Rahm Emanuel's accomplishments, courtesy of Wikipedia:He served previously as senior advisor to President Clinton at the White House from 1993 to 1998 and as a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Illinois's 5th congressional district, from 2003 until his resignation in 2009 to take up his current position in the Obama Administration.

Emanuel was chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee during the 2006 mid-term elections and remained a top strategist for House Democrats during the 2008 cycle. After Democrats regained control of the House in 2006, Emanuel was elected chairman of the Democratic Caucus. This made him the fourth-ranking House Democrat, behind Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and Majority Whip Jim Clyburn.[2]

What a misleading headliner. Totally deceptive. Sorry I wasted my time. I've heard parents say much worse things to their children.

The type of parents who talk that way to their children should be forced to read Emily Post and Miss Manners. Then they should get serious counseling about their behavior.

Can't you see it??? He's got one of 'those' names! Probably doesn't have a proper birth certificate either, (it's not written in crayon)(or signed by their brother/father).

Dick - Do you mean to say that birth certificates signed in crayon by your brother are valid where you come from? Why am I not surprised???

What did Rahm Emmanuel do that has you so pissed off? He's probably accomplished more than you could in your entire lifetime. It looks like Faux News is doing its job by hammering anyone who isn't a Republican.

That is called cursing him out. Calling someone a profane word is cursing them out. Maybe you're from the east coast where that type of behavior is tolerated. In Kansas City, we call it "cursing him out."

Okay...as far as the 'cursing out Rahm Emanuel' calling someone a name is NOT cursing them out. Although, I, myself do NOT curse, or as we say here in the South, cuss--she would've had to rip out his grill, and chew him up and spit him out.

As for the VP---THAT'S ABOUT ALL HE'S QUALIFIED TO DO...SERVE HOT DOGS!!!

Let someone call you that to your face, then you'll find it is "cursing you out." It's so convenient to change a definition of behavior to defend a celebrity.

I suppose you like the 'oompa-loompa' boy (John Boner) and Sarah 'I will quit when the going gets tough-or stops paying' Palin. I was always told that feces rolls downhill. Maybe THAT'S why the north feels like the south is full of it !
