Mika Brzezinski Can't Hold in Laughter While Reading ELO Member's Obituary (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Sep 9th 2010 4:50PM
On 'Morning Joe' (weekdays, 6 AM ET on MSNBC), Joe Scarborough worried out loud that he would have trouble reading the obituary of 'Electric Light Orchestra's' founding member Mike Edwards without smiling.

So, after scolding Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski grabbed the script from his hand and attempted to read the obituary herself.

"Mike Edwards, 62, a former member of Electric Light Orchestra, was killed in a collision..." she read, before suddenly pausing.

And why did Mika stop in her tracks? Well, as we learned a few moments later, the sentence that stumped her ended "... with a hay bale that had rolled down a hill."

After the interlude, she continued her reading -- keeping it together as Joe snickered in the background -- until she got to the details of the hay bale, which made her voice crack in laughter.

So yes, it was insensitive. But, all in all, it was probably a lot better than we could have done.
