An ex-cop and an ex-con are paired together on the new drama 'Terriers' (Wed., 10PM ET on FX). Partners Hank and Britt (played by Donal Logue and Michael Raymond-James) are scruffy and broke. They don't have a license for their detective agency. Their most powerful weapon against crime is a filthy old pickup truck. Hilariously, they're even willing to solve a case in exchange for having their clothes dry-cleaned.The question is this: Are these two investigators too "small-time" to take on the big cases? Let's find out.
[Spoiler alert.]
In the premiere, Hank and Britt already find themselves in over their heads. They go off in search of Eleanor Gazny -- the daughter of one of Hank's old drinking buddies. Eleanor has gone missing; she's vanished off the face of the Earth. During their quest for the young lady, the partners come in contact with Robert Lindus (Christopher Cousins), one of the richest men in town. All of a sudden, it seems like Hank and Britt's lives are improving. Lindus also wants to find Eleanor, and he gives the detectives $20,000 in return for tracking her down.
Well, Hank and his pal could certainly use the money. But of course, things aren't as simple as that. Mr. Lindus has his own nefarious reasons for wanting to find Eleanor. And now it appears that the detectives have gotten themselves hired by the bad guy. That's never good. Soon, hired goons are coming after them, and Eleanor is in even greater danger than ever before.
Will Hank and Britt be able to crack the case? Will they save the damsel in distress? And will their cruddy pickup truck come in handy? There's a lot of questions to be answered on 'Terriers' -- and this is still just the first installment of the show. There will be many more cases to solve. With a little luck, our poverty-stricken heroes will be up to the challenge.
