Diane Sawyer: I'm 'Okay' With Jason Bateman Using My Photo For MasturbationJimmy Kimmel is not exactly a hard-hitting investigative journalist. Still, the talk show host is brash and direct, and has a way of provoking a response. If Jimmy wants an answer, he'll probably manage to get one. On the latest 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC), Mr. Kimmel happens to talk with an actual investigative journalist. 'ABC World News' anchor Diane Sawyer is his guest -- and Jimmy has a fairly delicate question that he wants to ask her.

Kimmel brings up 'The Switch' -- a romantic comedy starring Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston. Diane plays a part in the film, although she doesn't actually show up in flesh-and-blood form. There's a scene where Bateman picks up a magazine that has Ms. Sawyer on the cover. Jimmy points out that Bateman uses the photo to help "produce a, um ... 'sample.'"

Sawyer acts like she doesn't understand what Kimmel is saying, so the host clarifies: "He masturbates to your image." Nice! There's the Kimmel-style directness that we're looking for.

The question is this: Was Diane "okay" with Jason using her picture as, um, jerk-off material? The news anchor seems fine with the whole thing: "A laugh is a laugh, you know?" Excellent. It's good that she has a sense of humor about it. Sawyer also says this about the photo incident: "A girl's got to make a living." Wait. So she got paid to have her picture in the movie? If we were running this interview, we would ask this follow-up question: How much money do you get for letting Jason Bateman mock-masturbate to your image?

Sadly, Jimmy never gets down to dollars and cents with Diane. But he did a pretty good job of quizzing the veteran journalist, so we'll let it slide. Asking Diane Sawyer about sexual bodily functions does seem kind of stressful -- so kudos to you, Jimmy!

Is there a lovelier, more likeable (and well informed) anchor in the world than Diane Sawyer? She has definitely raised the bar for grace, intelligence and fairness among TV anchors!!! (and a great sense of humor).
