'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' Giveaway - Win an HDTV!

by Alicia Roda, posted Sep 10th 2010 6:34PM
A brand new season of 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' -- hosted by Meredith Vieira -- premieres on Monday, Sept. 13. And with it come some exciting new changes.

Out of the many twists, turns, switcharoos and additions you'll see, the one that really caught our eye is the elimination of a $50,000 question. That means the only thing standing between contestants and the ultimate, million dollar prize are a mere 14 questions.

Here are the other changes you can expect from the new season of the beloved game show:

Millionaire will now be played in two rounds. Round One, consisting of the first ten questions is where we've made some big changes to game play. For those questions, both difficulty and dollar values are now randomized to create greater drama, risk and reward for both contestants and viewers. Now, the first question of the game could be worth as much as $25,000, and quite possibly paired with the easiest question of the day.

There's an added bonus to these first ten randomized questions – the dollars are cumulative, enabling contestants to make bigger money, faster.

Once a contestant gets past the exciting first round of questions, we're into Round Two where the ultimate goal remains the same – to take home the million dollar grand prize. First, however, contestants will still face the $100,000, $250,000 and $500,000 questions. With winnings of this magnitude, Millionaire remains the richest game show on television.

A Question Worth a Million Dollars - Our Contest and How to Enter:

Since we can't ALL be contestants on 'Millionaire,' we've decided to host a giveaway for the loyal fans that never gave up on praying, daydreaming, hoping that one day they'd get to sit in that chair. And we've got the perfect grand prize ... a 24" HDTV! And to go with it, 'Millionaire' swag that'll, at the very least, make you feel like you're a contestant.

To enter our contest, you'll have to submit a comment on this post with a million dollar question of your own (or, if your creative juices are lacking, pick one from a past season). Think unpredictable, strategic, tricky, exciting ... anything you, as a fan of "the richest game show on television," think would be featured as the question that could potentially change someone's life.

Submit your entry by 12PM EST on Friday Sept. 24 and make sure to use a valid email address.

If your question is selected, we'll contact you directly for the answer. We'll post the winning question on this page on Wednesday, Sept. 29 for all to see. Good luck!

AOL Television's 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' giveaway is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are 18 and older. To enter, please submit a comment using a valid email address. The comment must be left before 12:00 pm Eastern Time on September 24.
