Justin Long Recalls Being Fired from Animated Movie on 'Today' (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Sep 14th 2010 3:45PM
While discussing his role in the upcoming animated flick 'Alpha and Omega' on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM ET on NBC), Justin Long recalls being fired from the children's movie 'The Tale of Despereaux' because his voice proved too deep for the lead character.

"I'm playing a 12-year-old mouse and we recorded several sessions and the excuse they gave me was that ... when they started putting the voice to the animation, it didn't make sense because my voice was too low," said Long.

Then, to illustrate how ill-fitting his voice was for the role of lead mouse, Long jumps into a killer Harvey Fierstein impression.
