Spoilers Anonymous In-Depth: 'How I Met Your Mother'

This is Spoilers Anonymous In-Depth, a weekly column here at TV Squad where we discuss and give our two cents about recently released spoilers and how they may affect the storylines, shows and fans. This in-depth version of the column goes hand in hand with our weekly spoilers column, in which we supply you with the dirt on some of the more popular shows on the air.
This week, we discuss spoilers recently released for the upcoming season of 'How I Met Your Mother.'
Will we finally learn who the Mother is?
The answer to that question is, of course, no -- not this season. Well, unless CBS tells the series' Powers That Be that they are canceling the show sometime this season. Let's hope that when that happens -- I hope the series stays on the air for at least two or three more seasons -- CBS will give plenty of time for the series to offer fans proper closure. However, as soon as the season premiere, we will get closer to the mother than we have ever been!
The season premiere will "cast the mystery of the mother in a new light" as series creator Carter Bays said over the summer. Could this be linked to the spoiler that a wedding will happen in the premiere and that the Mother's current roommate, Cindy (played by Rachel Bilson), will appear in the episode?
We're entering season 6 so it's about time we get bigger clues as to who the mother is, no? Since it's clear the show will not reveal exactly who the mother is yet, what would be the next best thing? Seeing footage from her wedding to our guy Ted! That would not only cover he wedding spoiler but also the fact that the mystery of the mother will be cast in a new light. They don't have to show her face or even say her name; they could show her back while saying her vows with Cindy standing by her side as maid of honor. If that happens, it would definitely make the Mother more real and would give us something huge to munch on until they do make the official and full reveal.
In other Ted news, he will have a serious girlfriend this season and she is rumored not to be the Mother. That means no more date-of-the-week episode format, at least for Ted. Barney's another story!
What do you make out of these spoilers? Do you think that my theory is accurate? If not, share your own theory in comments below.
Marshall and Lily will try to get pregnant as early as in the season premiere. A fun side-effect to Marshall and Lily officially trying to get pregnant will be that Barney will try to meet his real father. Awww... what Bob Barker is not his father?!
Marshall and Lily are truly in love and ready for a kid. Seeing them go trough the steps to get pregnant and then the pregnancy will definitely be touching but also fun. Since they still act like teens at times, you can bet this won't magically change when Lily will finally get pregnant!
Poor Barney will discover that his mother has been lying about his father. Luckily for us, Barney will surely go all out in his quest to find his biological father. Will he come up with a "Dad Plan" or "The Five Steps to Find Your Real Father" as he does in the dating world.
Now that Barney will discover the truth about his father and the fact that Marshall may soon become one, will Barney pen "The Dad Code"?
The best spoiler of them all? Robin Sparkles is coming back!!! This time we will see her when she was starring in an outer-space themed kids' show with a partner in crime that was named Glitter.
Sparkles and Glitter! Sparkles and Glitter! OMG! Poor Robin was probably teased a lot because of that duo name! To our viewing pleasure, Robin Sparkles means a fantastic blast from the past as well as some unflattering footage of Robin in her teen years. We will see some footage of that outer-space kids show during the episode but expect, as they've done in the past with other Robin Sparkles footage, that we get a more complete video on the web so we can fully appreciate Sparkles work as well as laugh our behinds off!
'How I Met Your Mother' airs Mondays at 8PM ET on CBS. The season premiere will air Sept. 20.
