Suze Orman, Dr. Oz and Dr. Phil Get Together for the Launch of Oprah's OWN Network
Oprah Winfrey is assembling a venerable who's who of self-help gurus to come together for specials on her new network, OWN. Dr. Phil McGraw, Dr. Mehmet Oz and Suze Orman will film four different two-hour specials with studio audiences in Los Angeles and New York. According to Entertainment Weekly, the specials will air on four consecutive Sundays to coincide with OWN's launch on Jan. 1.
So, who decided to bring these gurus together? Orman and Lisa Erspamer, chief creative officer at OWN.
"It's the dream scenario," Erspamer told EW. "They've never done anything like this together, so God only knows what will happen. They're like rock stars. We feel like it's a great way to kick off the new year and the new network."
Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil and Orman will take audience questions during the specials, but don't look for them to be unanimous with their advice. "Each has their own area of expertise," Erspamer said. "They are all opinionated, lively, and strong."
The three experts have appeared on stage together before, last season they helped celebrate the 10th anniversary of Winfrey's O Magazine on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show.'
Winfrey kicked off her final season by giving her audience members a free trip to Australia. Watch the big O making the surprise announcement here.
