Love and Botox: E! Plans Wedding-Themed Plastic Surgery Competition

Plastic SurgeryDid we learn nothing from the sickening two-season run of 'The Swan'?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, E! is set to announce a wedding-themed competition show with plastic surgery procedures as prizes. It's called 'Bridalplasty,' and will feature women participating in challenges such as writing their wedding vows and planning their honeymoons. The winner of each challenge will undergo a plastic surgery procedure from her "Wish List," and the results will be displayed on the next episode.

At the end of the series, the winner will receive a dream wedding and will finally reveal her new self to her groom. "Viewers will witness his emotional and possibly shocked reaction as they stand at the altar and he lifts her veil to see her for the first time following her extreme plastic surgery," the network said.

Reality star Shanna Moakler will host, and 'The Swan''s plastic surgeon, Terry Dubrow, will "lend his expertise to the procedures." E! personality Giuliana Rancic will executive produce with Mark Cronin and Cris Abrego of 51 Minds, creators of VH1's 'The Surreal Life' and 'Rock of Love.'

As far as we can tell, this is not actually a joke, or even some sort of performance art piece protesting the materialism and shallowness of American society. This is a real show, featuring real people, on a real network. For more on 'Bridalplasty''s crimes against humanity, check out

No, I would not watch this show. It is just a representation of how shallow this culture has become. A prize consisting of undergoing plastic surgery? Really? I just hope the marriages aired on this show aren't as superficial.

It seems incredulous to me that anyone with half a brain would bother even watching this program, let alone be a part of it! At the risk of sounding like an old fart I've gotta ask: Gawd, what is this world coming to?
