'Survivor: Nicaragua' Premiere -- Youth Versus Age (VIDEO)

'Survivor: Nicaragua' Premiere -- Youth Versus AgeAnd we're back for the one hundred and forty-seventh season of 'Survivor'! (Okay, it's actually only the 21st season of the show. Still, it seems like it's been a long time since Richard Hatch first schemed his way to victory.) 'Survivor: Nicaragua' (Wed., 8PM ET on CBS) features a couple of new twists -- and one of them really throws the contestants for a loop.

The first new twist: the introduction of "the Medallion of Power." This is indeed a super-cool name for a medallion, but all it does is provide an slight advantage for a tribe when starting an immunity challenge. Once the medallion is used, ownership of it then passes over to the other tribe. Former NFL cheerleader Brenda Lowe finds the medallion, and the members of her "team" are pretty pleased. ... Until some of them learn that they're not actually on her team at all.

Yes, it's at this point that the tribes are divided up by age. Everyone pretty much knew that this twist was coming -- except for the folks on the show, that is. So Brenda goes and takes her magical "power" necklace to the "La Flor" tribe (i.e, "Team Young Folks.") It seems like La Flor already has the advantage: plus, you know, they're younger and more athletic and such.

On the other hand, the "Espada" tribe ("Team Old Dudes") has ex-NFL coach Jimmy Johnson. Contestant Chase Rice seems to have a lot of faith in Johnson, saying that Espada has "the best coach you could ask for." Still, we're not so convinced. This is 'Survivor,' not football. It's not like Johnson will be able to fire underperforming teammates or sign free agents like he could in the NFL.

What do you guys think? Are you going with Team Young Hot People, or Team Older, Smarter People?
