'Project Runway' Designer Has 'Waterloo' Moment (VIDEO)

On 'Project Runway' (Thu., 9PM ET on LIFE), designing an American sportswear look and corresponding outerwear influenced by Jackie Kennedy Onassis' style was one contestant's "Waterloo," said Tim Gunn. The eliminated designer didn't know what that meant. But Gunn's point was clear: The challenge led to the contestant's demise -- and most of the remaining candidates failed at the task as well. Of the losing finalists, Valerie got in trouble for designing a "jacket over a jacket," while Michael D.'s outfit was "an unfortunate mismatch and your proportions were way off," said host/judge Heidi Klum.
Still, Klum seemed very disappointed to see the particular designer "auf'd" from the show, as did Gunn. The loser, however, had a positive outlook.
