What to Watch: September 20 - 26

Lone Star - Monday September 20, 9PM ET/PT, Global/Fox

The season premiere of this new series introduces us to Bob/Robert, a con man living two separate lives on opposite sides of Texas. In one, he lives with a naive girlfriend and bilks the locals of their savings, and in another he's married to an oil heiress played by Adrienne Palecki of 'Friday Night Lights.' Her dad is played by Jon Voight. Based on the previews, it's hard to tell if we're supposed to love or hate this guy, but I'll tune in to just to watch Voight chew the scenery, at least the first time.

Also This Week:

Hawaii Five-0 - Monday September 20, 10PM ET/PT, Global/CBS

This is probably the most talked-about premiere of the season, and I bet the pilot will hold up to the scrutiny, but I do wonder how the series will pan out. Is there enough here to sustain it? I love this cast though -- Grace Park, Jean Smart, Daniel Dae Kim and Alex O'Loughlin. And set in Hawaii to boot? I'll watch for the armchair vacation factor alone.

Saturday Night Live - Saturday September 25, 11:30PM ET, Global/NBC

Amy Poehler hosts the first episode of the new season, joined by musical guest Katy Perry. The show gets some new blood as four regulars join the cast -- sadly only one of them is a woman. Meet Vanessa Bayer, Paul Brittain, Taran Killam and Jay Pharaoh tonight.

The Simpsons - Sunday September 26, 8PM ET/PT, Global/Fox

Lea Michele, Cory Montieth and Amber Rile of 'Glee' are guest voices at a performance arts camp where Lisa indulges her creative side. Meanwhile, Homer takes Bart to Oslo to watch Krusty get his Nobel Peace Prize. And they say this show is out of ideas!
