Eric Dane on 'Lopez Tonight': "I Follow You Around With Baby Wipes" (VIDEO)

Having a baby changes everything. And no matter how much you think you know how you're going to react, or what kind of a parent you're going to be, sometimes you surprise yourself. Eric Dane ('Grey's Anatomy') revealed his six-month old daughter Billie Beatrice on 'Lopez Tonight' (Weeknights, 11PM on TBS) and how he's reacted differently than he expected.

"I thought that I was going to be a let-them-get-dirty kind of dad," he said. "But the second you come into my house, I bring you to the sink, show you the soap and the hand sanitizer, and then I follow you around with baby wipes and I wipe the knobs and stuff. Because you don't want the kids to get sick, right?" We're just glad he doesn't take you out back and hose you down, too.


On coming up with the name Billie, Dane said it came about because his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, was convinced they were having a boy. "I said, 'Great, we'll name [him] after my father, Billy,'" Dane said. "When we found out it was a girl, I said, 'Great, we'll name her after my father, Billy.'"

We agree with George Lopez that Billie is an absolutely beautiful baby. And don't worry, Eric. That hair will come in long before she starts making you pull yours out.
