Former President Jimmy Carter Is Not Into Witchcraft, But Not Against Something Else (VIDEO)

'The Daily Show'Jon Stewart has had some of the world's most important people sit opposite him on 'The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11PM on COM). Normally he is able to handle himself with humility and grace, but it looks like former President Jimmy Carter catches him off guard.

The conversation started off innocently enough, with Jimmy Carter comparing his own 1976 Presidential run to the current momentum experienced by the Tea Party. "I ran against the establishment," he explained. "I ran against a Washington that was in disgrace [due to the Watergate scandal]. So people were looking for somebody outside, like the Tea Party is now, and I filled that role."

However, he wasn't ready to fully align himself with the controversial movement. "I'm not completely compatible with the Tea Party," Carter said. "I haven't been involved with witchcraft."

But then Carter decided that as long as he was being sincere and honest, why not take it a step further?

"I have one more confession to make. As a young man, I was not 100% against--" but Stewart wouldn't even let him finish, knowing that the President had just admitted to supporting masturbation.

While Stewart is known for his comfort with high profile guests, and ability to joke around with them and broach almost any topic, he clearly wasn't ready to go there with Mr. Carter. "I didn't mean to embarrass you," Carter said.

"I will say this," Stewart replied. "Was not expecting you to go there." Neither were we, but it was refreshing to see a former President willing to be so open and candid about such a personal topic. What do you think? Are there some topics politicians, present and former, should steer clear of or should they be able to talk about whatever they want?
