Michaele Salahi: Is Her 'Real Housewives of D.C.' Future Uncertain?
Could Michaele Salahi, the White House party crasher and star of 'Real Housewives of D.C.' be too much of a drama queen for the Bravo reality series? Maybe.According to the New York Post, if the cable network picks up the reality series for a second season, Salahi will not be a part of it.
The newspaper is reporting that Half Yard Productions, a Bravo subcontractor, is searching for a new woman to join the program. However, the network released a statement to PopEater negating the story.
"We've had no discussions about a season two -- including any casting -- and won't until the freshman season concludes," a Bravo spokesman told PopEater. "Any speculation to the contrary would be absolutely premature. And let's face it, it wouldn't be a proper 'Real Housewives' franchise without the drama of casting rumors."
Michaele and Tareq Salahi are being probed by a federal grand jury and have indicated that Bravo has prevented them from divulging the whole truth about their November 2009 state dinner crashing. Add that to reports of unhappy castmates, and this could mark the end of the Salahis on 'The Real Housewives of D.C.'
It's not unthinkable that Bravo would fire a controversial reality star: Look at what happened on 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey.' Danielle Staub, the biggest troublemaker on the series, was reportedly fired after the show's other stars threatened to walk away from the series. Staub maintains she walked away on her own -- either way she's off the series that launched her career.
Could the Salahis follow the Staub route and try to get a spinoff? Maybe, but public opinion of the couple has been warped and mostly negative since their state dinner incident. Their behavior on 'Real Housewives of D.C.' has not helped either.
Tell us: Should Bravo remove Michaele Salahi from 'Real Housewives of D.C.'?
