Cate Finally Admits Why She's Been So Angry Since Getting Fired on 'Life Unexpected' (VIDEO)

Ever since Cate (Shiri Appleby) got fired from her radio co-hosting job with husband Ryan (Kerr Smith) on 'Life Unexpected' (Tue., 9PM on CW), there's been a bubbling tension at home. She channeled it into a massive cleaning frenzy, but it wasn't until Ryan talked about her taking a lesser job back at the station that the truth of her anger came out.

Ryan was trying to encourage his wife facing unemployment in a very difficult job market. It's an accurate reflection of the situation many Americans are stuck in, except that Cate does have an opportunity. It's just not an ideal one. She could take back the job she had before she went on the air with Ryan "It's the only idea that I have that will keep us working together," Ryan explained.

"Then why didn't you quit?" Cate countered. "Because that would have kept us together!"

At this point, it stopped being an accurate reflection of our lives, as hers is a terrible and foolish idea. Ryan just admitted it's a terrible job market. What sense would it make for him to quit a paying job; the only paying job in the household; just for a sense of solidarity with his wife.
