Jimmy Fallon Is Terrified of Scorpions on 'Late Night'; Commiserates with Josh Brolin (VIDEO)

Josh Brolin brought up the million dollar question on 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM on NBC). If host Jimmy Fallon is so frightened of these creepy crawlers that animal handler Jeff Musial brings on the show, why does he keep having him back? "You have to look at your own thing," Brolin advised. "There's something a little twisted about you."Fallon was evidently so shaken up by having an Emperor scorpion on his shoulder, that he needed to commiserate with later guest Brolin about his traumatic experience. It was as if Brolin was on hand to act as Fallon's therapist after Musial abused him with animals.
"One time he came, and it was a rattlesnake or something," Fallon told Brolin. "And he threw it at me. It was a fake rattlesnake, but still they should warn me."
This time, Musial didn't throw anything at Fallon, but he did spook him so badly about the world's largest scorpions, that the host ran away from his desk when the box containing the animals was opened. "Come back!" Musial pleaded.
"I can't do it," Fallon said. "My heart's not good enough."
Brolin could sympathize, as he explained that his mother had been an animal activist. "Those guys are so insane," He said. "'They have malaria!' [they'll shout,] so happy about it. 'Hold it, it's fun!' It's really not, dude."
When Fallon admitted he was genuinely frightened of Musial because he never knew what he was going to do, Brolin agreed that he couldn't be trusted. "He's a little too excited."
Fallon may be freaked out by his segments with Musial, but his discomfort is our gain. They hearken back to the days of 'The Tonight Show' and Johnny Carson jumping around as snakes coiled around him while other critters terrorized the studio. It's a lot of fun to watch with a television screen between you and the animals.
